Who can use bornthis.day

You must be at least 14 years old (16 in the EU and EEA) to make an account, join a waitlist or send photos. If you use the site for an organisation, you agree to these terms for it.

Facts and data

The facts on result pages (songs, prices, events, weather, names and more) come from public sources such as Wikipedia, Wikidata, the World Bank, Open-Meteo and national statistics. Some were gathered and checked with the help of AI tools. We check them carefully, but they can still contain mistakes, gaps or simplifications, and averages and prices are estimates. The site is for fun and nostalgia. Please don't rely on it for anything important, such as legal, financial, medical or historical research. If you spot a mistake, tell us and we'll fix it.

Photos and images

• Historical photos come from public archives (such as Wikimedia Commons, Europeana and the Library of Congress) or from visitors. Each one is shown with its credit and licence.
• Some images are made with AI. They are always labelled "AI-generated image". They are illustrations of a general mood or era. They are not photos of real places, people, products or events, and they shouldn't be taken as historical records.

Your account

Give true information, keep your password safe and don't share your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete your account at any time on your account page. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

Photos you send

• Send only photos you took yourself or have the right to share. Don't send anything illegal, hateful, sexual or violent, anything that shows private information (like addresses, number plates or documents), or close-ups of people who haven't agreed to be shown.
• You keep the copyright in your photos. By sending a photo, you give Gwabba Ltd. a worldwide, free, non-exclusive permission to store, resize, show and credit it on bornthis.day and in images made for sharing pages from the site. This permission ends when you delete the photo or your account, except for copies other people have already shared.
• We review every photo and may decline or remove any photo without giving a reason. If you think a photo on the site breaks your rights, write to us and we'll act quickly.

Waitlist and invites

• For countries that aren't open yet, you can join a waitlist. A country opens when enough people ask for it, but we don't promise a date.
• Your place in line goes up when people join with your invite link. The top 10 inviters for each country are shown publicly by first name and last-name initial.
• When a country opens, the top 100 inviters get early access and a free premium reading when that feature launches. These rewards have no cash value and can't be transferred. If a feature changes, we'll offer something fair in its place.
• Invites must be real people. Fake accounts, throwaway email addresses, inviting yourself, or buying or trading invites are not allowed. We may remove invites, waitlist places or rewards that we believe were gained this way. Suspicious activity is checked by a person.

Destiny purchases and Destiny Plus

• Who sells: Destiny purchases are sold by Gwabba Ltd. Payments are taken by PayPal, or by Stripe when you pay by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay or live where PayPal isn't available; their own terms also apply to the payment. Prices are shown before you pay. They are set in US dollars: PayPal shows you the amount in your currency, and Stripe may charge it in your local currency.
• One-time purchases (Full Reading, Match Deep Dive, Question Pack, Lucky wallpaper) are yours for as long as your account exists, on any device where you log in. A Full Reading is for the chart you bought it for, and a Match Deep Dive for that match. The 30 bonus questions of a Full Reading and of a Question Pack don't expire.
• Destiny Plus is a subscription, monthly or yearly, that renews automatically until you cancel. The first 3 days are a free trial: you are charged when the trial ends unless you cancel before. You can cancel anytime on your account page ("Cancel Plus" if you pay with PayPal, "Manage or cancel Plus" if you pay with Stripe), or in your PayPal account; Plus then stays on until the end of the period you've paid for. If we change the price, we'll tell you by email before your next renewal.
• Ask Destiny questions use your daily allowance first (3 a day, or 50 with Destiny Plus, reset at your local midnight), then your bonus questions. Unused daily questions don't carry over. Questions and other in-app extras have no cash value and can't be transferred.
• Refunds: if something you bought doesn't work, or you bought it by mistake, write to [email protected] within 14 days and we'll refund it to the way you paid. If you're a consumer in the EU or UK, you agree that digital content is delivered straight away when you unlock it, and that you lose your 14-day right to change your mind once it's delivered; this doesn't affect refunds for faulty purchases or your other legal rights. A refunded purchase is locked again and its unused bonus questions are removed.

Destiny is for entertainment

Destiny readings, daily fortunes, luck calendars, chemistry scores, chat answers and wallpapers are for entertainment and reflection. They are partly written or drawn by AI, can be wrong, and are not advice. Don't use them to make medical, financial, legal or other important decisions. If you're going through something hard, please talk to someone you trust or a professional.

Using the site fairly

Don't misuse the site. For example, don't break or overload it, copy its data in bulk with automated tools, get around its limits, pretend to be someone else, or use it to break the law or harm others.

Our content

The site's design, text, code and logo belong to Gwabba Ltd. Facts, photos and images from others belong to them and are used under their licences. You may share links and the share images we make for you.

Our responsibility

• We provide the site "as is". We do our best, but we can't promise it will always be available, error-free or complete.
• As far as the law allows, Gwabba Ltd. is not responsible for indirect or unexpected losses, or for loss of data, profits or opportunities, from using the site. Our total responsibility to you for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and 100,000 Korean won.
• Nothing in these terms limits responsibility that can't be limited by law (for example for intentional harm, gross negligence, or death or injury caused by negligence), or takes away consumer rights you have under the law of the country where you live.

Changes

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and for important changes we'll show a notice on the site or email account holders before they take effect. If you keep using the site after that, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, you can delete your account.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, and disputes go to the courts of Seoul (Seoul Central District Court as the court of first instance). If you live in the EU, the UK or another country whose consumer laws give you more protection or the right to go to your local courts, you keep those rights.
